Sustainability and Recycling

We believe that a modern facade industry must be durable and precise, but also environmentally responsible. Compared to many other materials, aluminium composite is more durable and more sustainable. In addition, we have made targeted investments to reduce production waste and give used materials a new life.

How do we put this into practice?

We have made targeted investments to reduce production waste

and give used materials a new life.

ACM Metal Workshop

Material separation and recycling in Estonia

In 2025, we acquired a new guillotine shear and a special slicing machine for the company, which we use to process production waste into a form suitable for recycling. Using a heated cutter, pure aluminum and FR core material are separated from the aluminum composite material plate. The aluminum is sent to the scrap metal recycling, and the FR residue is collected separately for further processing. This way, we ensure that the waste generated in the production process does not go to waste, but is put to new use.

ACM Metal transport

International cooperation with Spain

Our Spanish partner, STACBOND, the largest producer of aluminium composite panels in Europe, is adding around 10% of the collected FR core material to the production of new panels. This means that ACM Metal's production residues in Estonia are recycled back into the international production cycle. The collaboration with STACBOND is part of our broader sustainability strategy, where local technical solutions and international manufacturing power meet.

Recycling from construction sites

Waste from aluminium composite panels collected from construction sites is also included in ACM Metal’s recycling programme.

ACM Metal has prevented more than 80 tonnes of construction waste from ending up in landfill.

  • In 2024, part of the recycling process was brought to Estonia to reduce transport-related impact.

  • At ACM Metal’s facility, aluminium is separated from the panels and directed to local recycling.

  • The plastic core is sent to Spain, where STACBOND processes it into granules for new panels.

  • In summer 2025, the first 19-ton shipment of composite panel core material was sent to Spain.

  • Cooperation with Green Marine expands the programme to waste generated on other construction sites.
